The Asus A7V133 Thread

I cant gethe CMOS to clear. I set RAM and CPU to run on 133 FSB and now it wont post! I got a gig Tbird and PC133 Kingston Value RAM.
 
Fortunately, I never had the opportunity to clear out my CMOS. If my memory serves me right, there are two solder points at the upper right corner of the motherboard (near the memory slots). You have to short those two contacts with something like a flat head (minus) screw driver. I always wondered why ASUS did not put pins in them. It would've been so much more convenient with a jumper.

Getting back to the point, if this method sounds finicky to you, a sure-fire way to clear CMOS is to

step 1) unplug the power cord from your power supply
step 2) push the power button to drain any residual electricity in the system.
step 3) to be on the safe side, reset all your dipswitches to factory default
step 4) pull out the CRD2032 battery (that round, silver coin battery) and leave it out for 5 - 10 minutes.

Hopefully that should dothe work.

You can do 2 things without clearing the CMOS.... 1 is turn on the PC and let it sit for 15 seconds, then turn it off with the PSU switch NOT the case switch, power back up and your FSB should set itself to 100Mhz. The 2nd option is turn off jumperless and set the FSB jumpers to 100... change the BIOS... then set it back to jumperless.

 
It seem's like everyone in this posting - including myself - is a happy camper with the A7V133.

I don't generally make final statements but for this board I will make an exception.

This in most definitely the best, most stable board I have had the pleasure to own.
 
So far i've only gotten 1333 (10x133) on my 1.2 T-Bird on the A7V133 w/ Taisol 733092 hsf... temperature is 65 C on Asus probe.. is that bad?
 
Asus Probe adds about 10C... if you use MBM5 or in the BIOS it would say about 55C which is not great but nots not horridble either and it is acceptable.
 
Newbie question, I suppose... I just built a new machine with this board (see sig for specs) and I love it! I'm not OCing at all, never tried it and don't really want to until I can afford to blow a processor away and replace it! My question is...what does it actually mean that the A7V133a has a 266MHz fsb? I know it doesn't refer to RAM bus speed...does it refer to the max core processor speed (before multiplier)? To me it suggests that this board will be able to handle much faster CPUs than are currently on the market - is that correct? Any other little tidbits about this board that I might be interested in? Thanks! 😀
