I kid, I know it's about human triumph over impossibility. meant to be a touching story instead of sci-fi orgy.

Yeah, its a ok movie. One scene had me laughing pretty good, however I'm not sure if it was supposed to be a funny movie.
 
I just saw it and I agree it was entertaining. It's definitely worth a rental but nothing more.

IMHO "October Sky" was better.
