The Aristocrats

Mill

Lifer
It wasn't bad -- it wasn't the best documentary or the funniest movie I've seen, but it was pretty good. It is not a renter, however, because part of the idea of it is that you are hearing all of this "obscene" stuff out in Public. Once you see it you will know what I mean. Some parts could be very dull/boring, because some of the comedians they talked to are umm... past their prime. For the most part, however, it was a pretty damn original idea, and if you are a free speech purist you will love it.

what was the origin of the Aristocrat joke? the first time I encounter this "piece of work" is in South Park. Is there a predecessor to the SouthPark version?

The South Park version is the funniest of them all. Then, George Carlin takes 2nd. Some of the others are decent because they spin it differently and there are those unoriginal bastards. But it is a pretty funny movie.

I enjoyed the film. Not the best ever, but entertaining.

I personally thought Gilbert Godfried what the funniest. His two scenes were hysterical. South Park's version was also one of the best.

it kinda got old after a while with each comedian trying to tell their "history" of the joke in the middle of the tellings...i just wanted to hear each comediens version all the way through after about 15 mins...especially Robin Williams and the dood from full house...

Quick review of some of the comedians I remembered in the show:
Sarah - she played to her strengths
The mime - I personally hate mimes, but Billie was quite tolerable.
George Carlin - mostly historical reference
Gilbert Gottfried - everyone has talked about his segment because of why he used the joke and that you get to see people's reaction to basically an insider's joke
Bob Saget - He is really, really different than his golly gee-whiz wholesomeness he portrays on TV. Like Sarah Silverman, this different personality is a little shocking and that is the point.

EDIT: Oh, yes. on the show
