looking forward to this movie 🙂
Seriously, why is there so much buzz about this movie? I mean, it's just one unfunny joke over and over again, so why does everyone want to see it?

Because it's like going for Chinese food. You know you will always order the General Tso's Chicken, and you know what the general taste will be like, but that doesn't stop you from ordering it. You want to see the different ways it can be done. Same applies to Vietnamese pho.

And though the punchline is a groaner/unfunny, the delivery is what takes the cake.

Damn. Saw this thread and thought it was about the Disney film The Aristocats. Was sitting here thinking "WTF? I don't remember that movie being dirty"

n their new documentary, Penn Jillette and Paul Provenza explore the history of the filthiest joke in the world, and why every comedian has a personal version. The film features over 100 comedians telling the joke as offensively as possible. Kurt asked Jillette about how and why he put together the film, which carries the tagline: No nudity, no violence, unspeakable obscenity.

nice to hear him talk like a normal person... u know his other persona is the ranting maniac sorta..

and well here's your bonus..hear teller speak http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4750603

BTW, can anybody explain the punchline to me? I just don't get it. The punchline is just so random.

It's not the punchline that's the joke; it's the way it's told. This joke is like a blank slate for comedians, sort of like asking a great chef to make a bunch of dishes with chicken. The chicken (or joke) itself is nothing special, but it's how it's cooked (or told) that makes it.
