Don't understand why this film is getting bad reviews.
One of the better "haunted house taken to a new level" films around for some time.
Plus... half way thru they didn't toss in some scaly green skinned, yellow eyed, bat winged photoshopped monster to ruin the film.
Acting/actors could have been better, but doesn't really matter once the paranormal activity heats up.
I'll never go in the laundry room again without first looking around. Especially at night. :D
And... was that one of the Harry Potter cast acting in there ???
Those kids age something awful as the years go by...

Worth the scare !!!
F*** the critics.

It always baffles me when people say they don't understand why the media they happen to enjoy is getting bad reviews. Um ... maybe you should actually read the reviews to understand why the review it's negative? I mean it's not like the contents of the reviews are vague, like "I R not like this media piece, this media piece doo doo" ... They actually explain why they don't like it. You understand that ... right?

And this goes for everyone who posts shit like "why all the hate" in a thread dedicated to explaining just that, or everyone who makes strawman arguments to explain why they think a reviewer disliked a movie/game/etc, even though said reviewer already explains his opinions in detail - cut that shit out. You're pissing me right the hell off.

When I read the OP, I was thinking "oh god, I hope he isn't referring to that movie..." <looks it up>.. Oh dear.

If there is a single original element in this film, or even a single clever touch to the film-making, I would be surprised.

Here's what I wrote on another forum after watching the trailer:

I wonder what excuse they dreamed up to have a reasonably attractive girl in the crucial 16-25 age range wearing not much while wandering around the house wondering what made the spooky noise.

At some point a spoof horror movie has to prey on that. A fully dressed, sensible, tooled-up woman goes to investigate spooky noise, accompanied by two ditsy guys in their underwear.

---

Decent horror films (ie. with a bit of realism to how the human characters look, interact and react) are very few and far between. Cheap thrill "make you jump" moments do not a horror film make. A horrible film, yes. It's like a load of immature young adults who call themselves script writers spent their entire lives exclusively watching Scooby Doo cartoons then thought "how do we make a horror movie for adults?".
