I've always had a problem with the Ancients and their non intervention policy. To have all that power and not use it is a waste honestly. It was tolerable until now where they won't even use their power to defend themselves. If they're gonna be little pussies about it they deserve to die.

Er..um...why do we think they won't defend THEMSELVES.

We know they won't touch the mortal plane, nothing has been said about them fighting in their own q-niverse.
 
In Arthurs Mantle, merlin had to hide is weapon from the other Ancients because they didn't want to do anything "not even to defend themselves"
 
According to SG-1, it's to avoid the temptation of having the mortals worship them, which would garner them more power. Besides, they have no real obligation to save the mortals.

It's not like the Ori really do that much for people. If you're interested in prostrating for 3 hours a day, then I guess the ori seems like an attractive religion
