I have an AMD II X3 Rana 2.7. I have ACC on my Biostar Motherboard. I can't unlock the 4th core. Each time I put ACC to AUTO or ALL CORES the system just wont post. Can anyone help me with this?

Second, It's seems I can not get a stable overclock on my 3 cores beyond 3.1 Ghz from 2.7. I'm using a lot of the auto overclocking features of my motherboard but can anyone help me in what I need to adjust to get this number higher? Max voltage I should be using ect.....I'm using a Biostar TA785GE motherboard....I guess I don't understand all the overlclocking features and options this board is giving me.

Well the obvious answer is that the 4th core just isn't functional. There is no guarantee that the fourth core will work properly. You should be able to do 3.1 on stock vcore, but you may need to change the memory divider to lower your ram speed.

Seems like the X3 you bought is just that, an X3. The 4th core is probably actually dead and that is why it isn't unlocking.

Posting complete system specs will help us with your overclocking problem, personally I would suspect that your ram can't handle the increase in frequency, and that you need to manually adjust the voltage and ram timings.
