Johan says the delay rumors are false, too. User Sirroman over at S/A posted this

Yeah, the developer is probably thinking "Nope... we probably don't stand a chance of getting this shipped in February" 🙂

Robert Hallock at AMD (Thracks):
Update: The "Mantle" driver reported by WCCFTech and other websites does not actually contain any libraries for Mantle. As of today, the driver's code is more than 6 weeks old and generates irrelevant performance.

Mantle remains on track for January, and you'll be sure to hear the story straight from us this month.

So what you guys think will come first, driver or the bf4 patch? Not that it really matters just some fun speculation.

I'm calling... driver!

It appears you called it correctly. Although the comments down below claim there is no sign of any Mantle DLL files.

I guess it doesn't really matter which comes first, the AMD Driver or the BF4 patch, because you won't be able to test it without either one.

That's not it mate! It is laptop dirvers top to bottom, no mantle, no true audio no nothing. It doesn't even have desktop graphics .inf files in it. That site is unreliable, actually more like rubbish!

I am having feeling from Twitters Johan and gang being almost in glee seeing gamers hanging on anticipation and arguing on Mantle what reaction be when Mantle is better than most are thinking.

As they are wringing hands in anticipation like.

That tweet said "even a 290 performance increase is measurable". That doesn't sounds good at all. We don't want measurable. We want substantial.

Agreed. I noticed that also. Although, there are so many variables. 290 with a fast CPU? 290 with an APU? I thought CPU had a lot to do with the impact. Hopefully all will soon be revealed.

Increases for heavily GPU bound situations won't be substantial. Mantle reduces CPU overhead very well, it does not help GPU bound cases nearly as much.

That tweet is terribly written... Hopefully it means there are more than CPU optimizations.

It's getting closer, we don't have to wait long now.

I already know what maps and where I will be testing when the patch comes out. There are a couple random places in a couple maps where my I get massive frame rate drop. Otherwise places where I know what FPS I get.

A 290 with an OC'ed Haswell i7 will most likely result in smaller improvements. But put the 290 on say, my CPU (4GHz Phenom II) and it will probably be far greater.

I am hoping for a big boost with my current setup.

He did follow it up with "especially with inefficient paths in DX like X-Fire". While it seems CPU is the biggest deal, AMD did say in one slide that Mantle allows the programmers control over each GPU, so probably it could be related to that.

/BF4 shows Mantle quite strong/
/as a starting point/
/will improve/

/performance boost is measurable(290)/
/especially with X-Fire/

Is this AMD marketing having just another bad day, or is there a way to read this and be optimistic?

LOL right? I think AMD moves all under performing employees to "The Marketing team"

I believe your post will turn out to be true, I never thought the 45% claims were remotely close to true based on AMD's exaggerated marketing powerpoints of years past.

On the other hand, it will be good if Mantle is finally released this month. Because I think a lot of people are just sick and tired of seeing the marketing spin being put towards Mantle with non stop powerpoints, so benchmarks as tested by independent sources will be a good thing. To put AMD's claims to the test. To end the speculation. Finally. Will AMD's claims be met? It will be interesting to see. If it deserves props I will give it props. But the marketing powerpoints on non-existing software or hardware is much harder to respect, and not just for Mantle. So I look forward to seeing how the real Mantle stacks up in BF4, the sooner the better (tomorrow hopefully?)

But it has to be asked. Based on your blanket statement here. What are your sources here? Citation ? Proof? Source? Did you see it first hand? Did you beta test Mantle already? Eagerly awaiting your reply. It's only a fair question since anyone downplaying the potential for Mantle in this thread is always asked for a source, so what's your source? Or did you see it first hand? Did you use it first hand? Your wording seems to indicate, that you did, in fact, use it. So i'm very curious about these GPU limited situations since that will apply to the vast majority of high end PC owners with Haswell or Ivy Bridge. Maybe you can expand on what the expectation should be for users of high end PCs.
