Here's what I understand based on what mark said: Self promotion and linking referrals and links to your own self-serving youtube is against the rules. Linking general benchmarks or whatever is fine, but if you're getting ad or referral revenue from those links, not cool. If you link your own website which generates ad revenue for yourself, not cool. If you're a reseller and you link benchmarks which spams your own reseller and ad revenue website, not cool. If you link your own youtube for self promotion and revenue, not cool. Self promotion is against the rules, which is what markfw stated, at least that's my understanding. You could always ask him if you wanted instead of making blanket statement about youtube.
Self promotion has always been against the rules, at least for as long as I can remember. If someone runs around spamming their amazon referral links, they will generally not be allowed and quickly deleted. Same principle. Because of self promotion.
