List of top 500 home run hitters.

wtf? John Olerud is tied for 177 all time with 255 home runs? John Olerud?

Gary Sheffield needs one more for the 500 club, he's at 499.
As long as plays anywhere he's a lock this year.

Here's one I didn't see coming. Carlos Delgado has 469 home runs? He has a shot hat 500 this year! If he makes it then the magic 500 home runs gets you in the Hall of Fame is deader than a door nail since he would be the only non-steroid tainted player to have 500 and not make the Hall.

Here's another freaky one. Alfonso Soriano has one less home run than Miguel Tejada! Seems like Tejada's been around forever hitting home runs and Soriano is still early in his career.

If Alex Rodriguez plays through his injury and has an average year he could make it to 600 this year and be at number 7 all time.

And the ultimate proof the home run record has been screwed up since Home Runs became cheap as Gigagbytes? Of all the players who have played mlb in over 100 years Trot Nixon is tied for 462 ALL TIME!

rafael palmeiro has already beaten delgado to that honor. no way palmero makes the HOF, shoot i'd take delgado before i'd take palmeiro and palmeiro broke 500 5 yrs ago. palmeiro retired with 569 hr.

if delgado did it without steroids, why would you NOT put him in the hof?

damnit I just got sucked in to wiki- somehow ended up reading way too much about pucket, sandburg, bonds, griffey, maris etc etc
I didn't know that Griffey was tied @ 8 for most consecitive games w/ a HR- that's amazing.

I wonder how many HR Griffey would have if he didn't battle injuries for most of his career. I remember how expensive his Upper Deck rookie cards used to be.

Andruw Jones is not yet 32 and has 371 HRs. Imagine if he did not gain all that weight and was still playing like he was in Atlanta. He'd have had an outside shot at 600...500 easily. Now, who knows if he'll hit 375.

imagine what he'd do if he was never on the roids!

Baby Andruw's drug of choice was a Big Mac, not 'roids. He gained his weight the old fashioned way -- all over his pudgy body and NOT by suddenly sprouting a GIANT HEAD!

I've never seen a guy who was once a GG fielder and monster hitter forget how to play the game. Not to mention a star athlete who couldn't just suck it up and lose a few lbs if he couldn't physically play anymore

Carlos Baerga has to be one of the all time lost it quickly players. He came to the Mets from Cleveland and basically just forgot how to play.
