Anyone got one of these?
How are they...game quality ...TV in quality..etc etc..

I have the PCI version of the ATI TV Wonder (full version not the VE) and it is cool but i was thinking of getting the 8500 as a (excuse the pun) all in one solution instead of having my Geforce2 and a TV tuner card..

Any thgouhts? ? ? ?

well, it's definately supposed to destroy your GF2 in game performance. the tv quality should be just as good as the previous all in wonders, which is great. i have the original all in wonder radeon. the new ati multimedia software is just amazing. plus the radeons all have dvd hardware decoding which is great. less stress on the processor. and the addition of a remote control is just amazing. it's something that they should have thought of earlier. and it will also give you a firewire port and a/v inputs. if i had $400 i'd definately get one. but i'm saving for an iPod. damn expensive toys.

I just got one for $309 from egghead and sofar I am happy with it. Its a lot of stuff!
If you have the money to blow,go for it.

Thanks for the heads up!
I have the ATI TV Wonder and my ASUS Geforce2 Pro so i was thinking of selling them both to cover some of the cost on the Radeon card.

A month ago, I was where you are now. I was considering getting a 8500DV to replace my Voodoo 3 and TV Wonder (full version, like you). I instead got a retail 8500 (no DV), and downloaded MMC 7.5. I'm going to order the remote from ATI (as a 'replacement' 😉 ), and I'll have most of the features of the 8500DV (all of the ones I need), for much less money. I had to do some tweaking to get them to play nice, but it's pretty sweet.

I'm still using my AIW Rage 128 Pro 32MB, which I still love because of the utility. When I get the money, I'll probably dive into an 8500DV. But right now my #1 priority for upgrading a new SCSI hard drive. I don't really play games anyway and I don't own any DV equipment that would necessitate having the IEEE1394 interface.
