The ad for McDonald's dollar menu where that Screechesque dude is collecting money outside an apartment party...

I just don't get the concept, the scrawny dude is annoying, the acting is horrible, and it racially stereotypes with the token tough black man who uses racially unique lingo like "homie" and is supposed to be funny because he is a stupid black dude saying the word "parfait". It could also be constrewed as the white guy with a big nose and curly black hair as being a "cheap jew" who is scamming people out of money for personal gain.

Agreed? I find it despicable that such a major corporation can get away with continuous racial stereotyping (think last years commercial where the two black men are talking about duvet covers and hord'erves, and yes that is misspelled)

Crazy stupid. I hate when they profile him and he has a big hook nose... Also, I find it funny how the last person in line, a guy, goes to drop the dollar in the can and the "big hooked nose" guy runs off and he looks like a 'tard just holding his dollar.

Yeah, the last guy in line looks like such an awkward actor how he just holds his dollar over the can.

I can't help but feel that this analysis of the commercial, in a sense, justifies its existence. Personally, I would never want to see, or even think, about that, or any of McDonald's commercials. Yet, here I am after being bored enough to click on the link to this thread.

Lol, he's such a douche in his own little world during that commercial that he doesn't give the very last guy enough time to put his dollar in.

Ok so I'm not the only one who noticed. :p Now where's my parfait homey?

While I know any publicity is good publicity, I personally love getting dollar menu McChickens but now am less likely to stop in and buy something because of my distaste for their racially driven marketing/stereotyping techniques.

It's a stupid commercial, but even having seen it numerous times I never once noticed anything racist. But maybe that's because I don't go around looking to pull the race card on such trivial crap.

People demand diversity and when they get it everything then becomes racist. I love it. I see FAR more Blacks that talk and act like Hip Hip fools than ones I would simply consider normal people so how is portraying that in a commercial racist?

How is using stereotypes about Jewish people being cheap thieves, and a black individual hanging out with white people using slang that juxtaposes a French term a form of diversity?

Diversity is the inclusion of many races without predetermined characters types, not one musclar black guy and a bunch of smoking hot models.

Was the guy wearing a yamicah and a star of David? Or do you just assume that anyone who has a hook nose and is cheap can only be a jew? Why bother even watching TV if you're going to look this deeply into commercials?

I'm not lookingly deeply into them, I'm taking my initial impressions and then analyzing those deeply. Afterall, an ad is taken at face value by viewers due to its brevity, so the most important thing is ones initial interpretation regardless of how true it may be.
Follow?

Why choose a scrawny pale curly haired kid to be in an ad filled with otherwise super attractive models?
