not entirely pointless if you're a car detailer.. or at least enjoy detailing your car.

crazy that he applies the wax by hand... I wonder how much he charges.. it was 6000 for just the wax...

for a $6000 car wash, there'd better be hot, big breasted women in wet tshirts rubbing their bodies against the windows while i'm sitting inside.

from what ive heard, he can because the sunlight in england is MUCH less powerful than it is here in the U.S.

Go learn about the world, then come back.

the wax costs 6000 pounds.

but the WASH of your car costs up to 5 grand.

Neither of those amounts is equal to $6000.

i thought he had said 6 grand, hence the edit.

That was pretty neat, but when he busted out the "ultrasonic depth gauges" it was a little bit much for me.

5 grand on a UK show means £5000 NOT $5000.

The guy washes cars we dream of.
Yes, an ultrasonic depth gauge is a bit much when your washing a Honda (Or Toyota or Chevy or whatever else we commoners drive) but for cars that cost more then most houses...... Doesnt seem over the top to me.

£5000 = $8,890.76 US!

I would think this would be a pretty satisfying job, and presumably lucrative. They never said how many hours it takes for the 61-step wash-and-wax, but if it's done in a single day he's doing pretty damned well, regardless of the cost of the supplies (plus, I believe that astronomically expensive Zymol wax is refillable for life for free).

WTH...

£5000 != $5000.
It's not a $5000 car wash. It's an $8800 car wash.

*sigh*

I guess if you own cars that expensive, $8K on a car wash is nothing. Might as well do it right *shrug*
