@thilanliyan: let happy live in his fantasy world. sure fud has consistently been far off the mark, but they assure us that this time it's different. we should believe them, there's no need for disclaimers on them anymore.

I wish all my fantasies came true, just like this one? Need I say more?

This is the first I have heard of these figures. Interesting to see if he's right or all the fud haters on page 1 (and tbh most of the comments at fud itself) are going to have to eat their words.

Oh,they are eating ...........

Happy about how this thread turned out sure, but happy about 69xx series ,not really.

It looks to me like they were aiming for the gtx480 and got "caught with there pants down".

Nah let him. He took a lot of shit for sticking with Fud. Now that the truth is revealed, he deserves some gloatin. lol hehe

I was bobbing and ducking mud for 2 days. I stuck to my guns though, thanks.

You can usually tell the real fud/guesses from the truth.

With a few days before launch and giving more then just simple clock speeds, you can just tell.

NO ONE wanted to believe it, thats the problem.

Some people should never post here again out of shame - and never be taken seriously neither - but that will never happen
:|

Your right. And I could name about 4 names. But of course, I am not going to.

And why is people referring to this launch as new generation ? Because they say "new architecture" ? These are the final pieces to the 6xxx Series of cards. Wouldn't the "next gen" be the 7xxx Series cards ? Or whatever they will be named ?

Is he also cringing at some of the reviews, that at "extreme resolutions and settings" that the 6970 is simply faster ?

Computer Base is one of the reviews. Perhaps some of you neet to go read it.

Or is he just feeling "happy" that half of the reviews are showing Nvidia in a better light than the other half ?

Most of the review sites that I seen people waiting on, because they trust that "particular" site more for their reviews, shows the AMD card just about equal to the NV card at extreme settings and resolution.

And lower resolution does not matter. Because tell me, at 1280 / 1440 / 1600 / 1920.... is ANY of these cards render the games unplayable ? No.

They just use a different account or don't post for a few weeks.

Suddenly you will have a new member that says he's been lurking for 3 years ,but then posts 5 times everyday. It's easy to spot.

And there are also people that don't want to believe, that the AMD cards are without a doubt the better buy given performance at extreme resolutions and settings. And them being cheaper, just makes it that much better.

The upcoming build will have a single 6970 "maybe". Already have a 6870 for the upcoming build, but instead of a second one, going to transplant it into the PC for the kids.

I have a library of over 200 hard copies of games and about 50 of those, are pretty much current games. And at the resolution I plan on playing those games and at the settings I will use....the price of the AMD cards is better.

Because I for one, am not going to pay a little over a $100 premium for 10% more performance.

You should know by now this is how it allways is. You allways pay a premium for the fastest card.

I do agree the AMD cards are priced nice but if you look at some benches a factory overclocked gtx570 will ~= a 6970's price/performance.

Prices on the gtx cards hopefully will fall (and they will),and we will have something more to argue about.:).

You people still don't seem to get it. Whether or not a rumor turns out to be true, after the fact, is not a justification for posting it as a confirmed truth in the first place.

Never before would I have thought this a difficult concept for people to understand.

Tincart, I know you're a philo guy and all. But this place, especially after a major launhc of any product, is all about testosterone. That's what guys do. I mean even philosophers at some point go to battle and if won they would feast. Today is feasting for Happy. He'll return to normal after the feast. But let him feast! hehe

lol Nemesis has been uncharacteristically quite right after the epic launch of the 6970 isn't he? kinda funny hehe

He was gonna bet me that the 6970 was faster then the gtx580, the 6950 was faster then the gtx570, bla bla bla...he would have lost.

He was gonna bet me a brand new 6970. I'm kicking myself now.

Groverfinding was betting 100$ (I think) for the 6970 for any Nvidia fanboys to take. He would have lost also.
