Some of not yet in stock, but as I will be purchasing one very soon, I was curious which is the better brand.

Albatron - 455
eVGA - 410
PNY - 445
XFX - 459
BFG - 499

I've heard a number of good things about the eVGA, from various sources. I hear the BFG OC card is good too, however, its 500 USD price tag pretty much takes it out of the running. The Albatron is currently the only GT in stock at Newegg. How does the Albatron card rank in the scheme?

I'm also getting good vibes from people with 350W PSUs, which is a plus because thats what I've got right now, rather not upgrade that too.

My 9600 Pro is really showing its age. Ironically, Its spent more time in a computer I've owned than any other card.

Feedback appreciated.

I'd order the BFG from chumbo.com for $399.99. They seem to be BFGs main retail outlet and have been getting stocked regularly.

I love newegg, but I'd tell them to stick it with this $100 gouge. I'd also take the BFG above all these brands for stock OC and warranty.

I got my EVGA directly from Evga, for 399.99 and shipping, a bit more than newegg due to the shipping, but they are in stock there.

I've heard bad things about the 2d image quality on eVGA cards, any firsthand experience?

According to users I've seen with the new eVGA 6800 cards, the 2d quality seems to have been fixed and looks pretty good now.

I checked their site too, they are out of stock until August.

Got an eVGA for $409 shipped from Newegg. Very happy with the card. No 2D IQ quality concerns at 1600x1200 on my 21" CRT.

The $409 eVGA is right at MSRP when you consider that this price includes shipping, plus you can order it directly from eVGA as well for $399. I was originally looking to get a BFG card (ultra), but wasn't able to get hold of one. The eVGA at Newegg was a fair price and I'm quite happy that I saved a bit and got the GT now. I have OC'ed my card to BFG specs and beyond out of curiosoty, and the 20Mhz bump in core speed is completely negligable. I run the card at spec speeds now, and the card is fantastic. I had a BFG card in the past and was happy with it also, so I would guess that anyone would be happy with either one.

You're getting a 6800GT on top of your 6800?

And yeah, the prices are out of wack. The only reason why they are selling the evga at MSRP right now is because evga is their own vendor.

Once the BFG 6800 GT OC is in stock at Chumbo, I'll likely order it. :) I checked the reseller ratings on them, seems pretty decent, not as high as Newegg, but then, few are.
