I dont know alot about the super high end gear but why not use Burmester over McIntosh.
Amps don't get better than McIntosh. They can only be as good.

With the speaker setup he has, any high-end amplification would have done the same thing.

Once you get to a certain level, amps just don't get any better....if they are producing perfectly clear sound already, then it can't get more clear.
