Quite a bit of capital. I wonder what OWS did with the cash hoard.

Punted from OT to P&N.

Did they file the proper forms for Not-for-profit status? Have they or will they be filing their taxes?

Those are good questions, I cannot seem to find the answers. There does not seem to be any reporting in the media regarding the situation.

Who is the Custodian for this cash?

Friend of Liberty Square Inc. seems to be the financial vehicle they used to collect the donations.

The Finance / Accounting Working Group is the accounting arm of the NYCGA. Our open public meetings are Friday at 5:30 pm in the Atrium at 60 Wall Street and our desk hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 1 – 5 pm at the 50 Broadway office (12th floor).

If you’re interested in joining the Finance / Accounting Working Group, please come to our Friday meeting and let us know! We’re always looking for a few more responsible number crunchers.

Any NY ATOTer want to wander over and ask them?

Or we could take up a donation and send Spidey as our ambassador.

Are you sure they return to work at 4:20? I'm not sure if you can smoke in a workplace in NY.

Looks like they provide financial reports at http://accounting.nycga.net/

The money is supposed to be distributed via committee. Not sure if they have audits though.

Looking at some of the expenditures they list, its a tiny fraction of the 500K and there are quite a bit of line items that offer no details. It just would say for example.

(This is right out of the accounting data they provide)

10/25/2011 - 3,000$ Supplies for Puppets for Halloween (no receipt available)

WTF??? :D Lots of weird entries. but its only a tiny fraction of the 500K

http://accounting.nycga.net/expenditures/

Something fishy. The whole thing would make for an interesting investigative reporting regarding the 500K collected.

I’ll keep it short and sweet — Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business.

You should have quit your job, go - join OWS as a CPA and you won't have any questions...
