The "$35 computer project": Ideas on a quality motherboard, cpu and case for this new build?

I'm looking for ideas on a case/psu, motherboard, and cpu to round out what I call my "$35 computer" (to date, each component has cost about $35). Obviously I expect to pay more than that for the remaining components as some corners aren't worth cutting. [Edit: It's okay if prices go above $35--obviously they will. Just make some reasonable suggestions. Thanks.]

In particular I'm looking for:
1) Stability: this is a workhorse, not a gaming machine (replacing an Asus p3b-f w/ 1.1g celeron)
2) Price vs. performance (not just price per se)
3) Simplicity (setup and go). I'm not an overclocker (yet), but it's not entirely out of the question.
4) Mid-tower case preferred over a giant full tower

Suggestions (particularly for the motherboard) on how to round out the following computer?

Parts on hand:
$34 256mb Crucial DDR 2100
$35 Maxtor 20gb hdd (really, it's enough ;) )
$35 Matrox G400
$36 Soundblaster Live! "de"
$33 Liteon DVD
$32 Cendyne (Mitsumi) 32x12x40x CDRW & Belkin NIC
Free Diamond SupraMax modem
(already have keyboard, mouse, speakers, floppy, software, monitor, etc.)

I guess it wouldn't help much to say I haven't decided. I'm open to suggestions from both the Intel P4 and AMD XP crowds. I'm not a zealot for either side.

If you want to use DDR, there is the Via P4X266 motherboard. It runs about $30, but you can get them for less from uBid...

The trouble would be finding a P4 for that... a Celeron 1.7 wuld fill the bill for about $80

You've already got PC2100 RAM, you're looking for the best price/performance, you aren't planning on overclocking - that has AMD written all over it :)

Motherboard: SHUTTLE AK31A AMD K7 VIA APOLLO KT266A DDR SOCKET A ATX MOTHERBOARD (RETAIL) - $59
CPU: AMD DURON 950MHz 200MHz FSB SOCKET A PGA PROCESSOR (OEM) - $36 (OK, so I only chose this CPU because it was the fast AMD processor under $40 ;))

There ya go, just add a cheap HS/F, like maybe the SVC GC68 or SVC Golden Gate (found at svcompucyle) and you're good to go :D Alternately, you can get a Duron 1.1 (RETAIL w/HSF) for $55.

So does the new system need to be faster? Then you need either a real P4 1.6a - 1.8a (not crippled P4-celeron that is actually slower at some tasks like MP3 encoding) or at least a Duron 1.1 and preferably an XP.

You can get a 1ghz Duron for around $35 and it might be able to be set at 133mhz FSB so it would act like a Athlon XP 1500+ for $35 :)

I plan on running 2 1Ghz durons in my server
