I agree. The Sodom and Gomorrah lifestyle is destructive and bad for society. The first thing we need to do is outlaw online porn as obscene.
I'm talking about YOUR closed-minded and tiny-brained thinking, but you already knew that, clown.

No, you are right to agree with me. This world cannot be just about pleasure seeking like drug abuse and pornography.
You should probably avoid church then, they are the biggest pedophiles on the planet.

Or maybe that's why you're so into the church these days. It's kind of what they're notorious for.

Nobody agreed with you, and again...you know it. You're a liar and a troll whose intellectual capacity ends at, 'nuh-uh, you are!'

Clown.

The religious and the non religious debate over a god that does not exist because they either believe in or doubt the existence of some entity or being that exists out there. But the reason that religions exist is because of the fact that the human being is capable of an alteration of the nature of ones conscious awareness. Owing to the use of language we have a capacity to think and to put labels on things. All these meanings as they become crystalized as habituated memories incorporate emotional experiences as a product of our personal experiences.

The religious derive a sense of pleasure and safety kowtowing to the beliefs of the flock whereas those disappointed by the promises of gods develop a sense of derision at being taken in.

Meanwhile, hidden from the experience of those trapped in the duality of language, mystics or self investigators or whatever words the use of language popular at the time assigns to them, keep having some aha moment that transforms their perception of being. The result is a feeling of wholeness and joy.

So religions, in my opinion, are just the products, systems, or tools of vastly wealthy people who specifically designed them with the intention of sharing their wealth.

Of course these metnodologies will be captured by those in the greatest poverty as a means for you to share with them.
I'm guessing you're one of the few people who's ever read the Lankavatara or Prajnaparamita sutras.

Fuck off, clown.

How could you not agree with me? So you support gluttony? If you want to be childish go right ahead, I will leave you to your drugs and porn as it seems thats your only goal in life - self pleasure.

But its not just you, its a lot of people these days.

That is why all street drugs and porn need to be illegal nationwide and in every state.

Actually they are not in my wheelhouse things that I have read but having checked on the internet to get some idea of what they say, the ideas I saw contained therein certainly have. I was mildly exposed to Christianity by a basically non-religious family that thought it there duty to expose me to the beliefs of my culture. For reasons I can't explain Christianity provided me a great deal of mental comfort in a world perhaps out of excessive empathy I saw as deeply tragic. It's nice to believe that no matter what happens to a person in this life if they are good they will be rewarded in heaven. It's hard, for example, to live in a world where genocide is commonplace if you believe that life is valuable.

But I lost that faith because I wanted to prove that such a good exists and it turns out that Christianity isn't for people who won't believe without proof. Thus my world collapsed into black despair with the certainty that I would never again be happy.

Well I didn't give up easy and read everything I could but under my merciless analysis it all fell to ashes. The West had nothing to offer. Then I stumbled on Zen. Here were a group of nut cases who didn't believe in anything, no tile below or above, life empty of meaning, but these assholes were laughing their asses off. And what did they offer. A fucking pumpkin or a stick. So why did I suffer. That is the question I asked myself. Why do I suffer, and poof my suffering ended with the sudden realization that the need for meaning is as meaningless as everything else. I am a monkey. I don't need any fucking meaning. Everything is exactly as it must be just as it is. The kingdom of heaven is just there, everywhere.

Now, of course, I know that people have been figuring this out for themselves for thousands of years. I saw it because I lost the battle to attach importance to my need for meaning. Everything because clear because I had lost all hope. I surrendered to any hope there is an answer to my dreams. I would say it amounts to death of the ego. Who are you when you are not. What you have after a shipwreak. What you were born with. What you were meant to be before you started to dream, your true self.

@Moonbeam I can relate to a lot of that except in my case it was fear of the permanent loss of self via death. But what I've discovered after being quite a variety of psychotropics, both legal and otherwise has been that such fear seems to be largely biochemical. But let's not go down that rabbit hole just yet.

The psychotropic that finally brought me to that conclusion is an antidepressant called Luvox. It's also the first line treatment for OCD.

As far as the rest of the world is concerned, learning about history has led me to the conclusion that we're generally moving in the right direction. Compassion is no longer considered a weakness and we (most of us anyway) no longer revel in the bloodsport so beloved by the Romans. But this has only happened because with our basic needs having been satisfied (in the first world at least) we can be truer to what I believe is our basic nature.

Continued good fortune on your journey.

It's not enough that they ram their religion down our throats through the Supreme Court, now they gotta do it through the Super Bowl too?

What's wrong with a little forced deep throat?

And if you can't speak for a few hrs afterwards, perfect reason to learn sign language :p

why is it that those that profes to be his servants and followers the loudest seem to be the biggest hypocrites?
Here’s some examples:

“We are wanting to say — ‘we’ being a lot of different people — that he gets us,” Green said. “[Jesus] understands us. He loves who we hate. I think we have to let the public know and create a movement.”

Also: you need to get laid. You post more about sexual stuff than darkswordsman17, and that's saying a lot.
Dude
You need to stop forcing your opinions onto others like yours is annointed from ghod.

It makes you sound angry and unhappy to me

Did I hurt your feelings? Nobody "forces" opinions on anyone. I am not putting a gun to your head and saying you have to accept my beliefs. Don't play the victim just because you post like an idiot.

My comment to you was nowhere even close to anger-induced, btw. Even if it were...statements are not invalidated just because they are made in anger. Keep posting about sexual stuff as a 14 year old might though, it's no skin off my ass. It's noticeable though, js.

They can throw billions upon billions and I doubt its going to amount to much. Young people especially have left the Christian faith. Have you been to church lately? The nones (no-religion) are growing. Christians are projected to be the minority by 2050, or 2070 the latest. Islam is projected to be the worlds most popular religion in 20 years.
