I just watched the first 8 episodes of The 100 on Netflix, and to my surprise it's not bad.
It's about a bunch of teens and young adults that are expendable "criminals" ranging from light slap-on-the-right types to hardcore criminals, who are sent down to earth from an orbiting space station to check earth out. Earth needs to be checked out because there was a nuclear war and it became radioactive, so during the war earth sent people to the space station, and then they stayed there for generations before considering going back down.
At first I thought it was going to be 90210 in space/on earth and unfortunately the first couple of episodes kind of were like that, but afterwards the show got a bit grittier, with better writing. I'm optimistic, as the latter group of episodes were overall pretty decent.
BTW, I'm in Canada. It's on Netflix in Canada, but I don't know about in the US. It's on the CW for sure, but probably not Netflix in the USA.
