WTF - I guess Sarbanes-Oxley wasn't followed to well.

October 26, 2007 -- The former CEO of the leading supplier of body armor to U.S. soldiers in Iraq was charged yesterday with looting the company to bankroll a lavish lifestyle that included a $10 million bat mitzvah for his daughter.

In addition to the bat mitzvah - which included performances by Aerosmith, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, Kenny G and the Eagles - prosecutors said David Brooks got the firm, DHB Industries, to pay for other goodies.

Among them were a face lift for his ex-wife; vitamins for his stable of 100 horses; pricey vacations; fancy jewels; an armored car; a $194,000 Bentley; and a $100,000 diamond-studded belt buckle.

He deserves to be put in jail for the rest of his life and repay what he swindled from his company.

They should really crack down on these white collar crimes that cost employees and shareholders millions and millions of dollars. It's not like these execs were not payed enough from the start.

That's nothing, our former CFO embezzled $80 million and is now in jail :).

I totally agree.

And on top of that he ran his own charity organization that he "contributed" to? That's sad.

He reportedly sent the company jet to fly Aerosmith in from Pittsburgh, paying them a cool $1 million. In return, they let his nephew play drums.

So figure $1mil per group. I guess money is money but if you're a legendary rock group like the Eagles, do you really reduce yourself to playing a bat mitzvah? That is a bigger laugher than Peyton Manning showing up at a Sweet Sixteen birthday party for $200k.

You can get just about anyone to appear for a couple songs for 100k. its not as much as you think it is.

True dat.

I once attended a wedding reception ( as crew for Journey) that was serenaded by
1. Christopher Cross
2. David Crosby
3. REO Speedwagon
4. Journey
and for a headliner.... Rod Stewart

Emcee's were Jay Leno and Dana Carvey, and Rob Lowe was 'in da house'. He was a guest, though.
Rod played his set and was off the premises before Leno could make it to the stage at the end of the set. Calls for an encore were met with tire racks from the 700 series BMW that whisked RS away.

Groom was a phone card mogul, bride was an executive with Fey Concerts.
Dude had two barges parked offshore of the site of the little shindig. They contained the pyro for the two different fireworks displays.

There were over 300 different dishes around the perimeter of this circus tent. No two were the same.
Had some little ol' cuban lady rolling cigars at the enrance....

really sick...

His company supplies body armor to troops. Prosecuting him is un-American and supporting the terrorists.

SOX IMHO costs far more than it helps. Being part of a Fortune 500 company, we have had to hire positions just to handle SOX.
