That's it, my sleep cycle is completely screwed up.

I don't know how it happened over the holidays, but I now am officially an insomniac. I've even tried to stay awake for the whole two days so I can get back into the normal sleep cycle, doesn't help.

During the day, I'm a zombie walking around, and I'd fell asleep for a few hours and then up all night doing absolutely NOTHING. WTF!!!

Anybody else doing the same thing?

I had my first nightmare in a while. Woke up punching the air in the middle of the night, and couldn't sleep as well afterward.

From what I remember, I was in some weird RPG where people had upgradable objects for weapons. I had a level 2 pen that did to the person what you write on them. Somehow, writing die on someone turned into 'clie' or something. He came back to get me as a zombie, and I woke up when he got me. Ok, that is one effed up dream now that I wrote it out...

I could use a pen like that for cute girls. I assume you aren't locked into writing negative things.

My sleep cycle has been whack for about 6 months. Absolutely no rhythym or anything.

I gave up and just deal with being tired all day. But the odd thing now, is that every single dream I have I can remember. I used to forget them as soon as I stood up. :D

Welcome to Fullmetal Chocobo's life! I feel so bad for him that is the way he is unless he takes Ambien CR. Even then he woke up the past 2 nights at about 3-4 am and was awake the rest of the night.

Yeah, my sleep schedule is screwed up too. I'm fairly "dead" in the morning and can't focus, then when the evening comes around I'm fully awake and don't mind staying up. I've always been a nite owl but this is ridiculous.

I've had issues with taking hours or simply not being able to fall asleep at night and then problems with waking up in the morning my whole life ... not quite the same problem you have, but sorta similar.

On nights when I'm going to need to fall asleep earlier than normal, or if I'm sick or have been not sleeping enough and am exhausted, I will take some Diphenhydramine (active ingredient out of Benedryl) to help me fall asleep. I usually only do this if I have at least 9 hours to sleep though, because otherwise it's VERY hard to wake up.

Also, In the morning, I try not to make too much a habit of it, but I usually find some coffee helps to get the brain awake. Also, no caffeine at all after about 2pm for me (I usually go to sleep between 12am and 2am, and wake up by 8, if I have caffeine after 2pm, it's nearly impossible for me to fall asleep before about 4am)

Also, it helps to wake up at the same time every day ... I fail at that, because on the weekends, I sleep in for a few extra hours, but it does screw up the sleep schedule quite a bit ...

Anyhow ... if you've dealt with this before, then all of what I said is probably already common knowledge but if you haven't dealt with insomnia too much before, maybe it'll help...
