Switch back to dial up, I hear AOL has badass speeds.

Probably better than the crap service Cox has been providing.

Because your pipeline is shared?

We have Cox here too but if you want broadband, you have to pay cable tv to get broadband, no broadband only.

Never had an installer. Service was already on when I moved in.

Mabey ask them to run a new line from the pole?

Calling them tomorrow and demanding that they do so.

I had adelphia do that couple years back, after I bitched for a week straight.
They also claimed they were upgrading their entire network and that it would cause problems with internet connectins. I told them that isn't my problem and if it continues, paying my bill won't be my problem either.

That sucks. My experience with Cox in PHX, AZ, was exemplary when I had them. Only had two major instances which required me to phone them and they responded relatively quickly and fixed the problems.

wow suckage:( Hope you get it fixed!

I remember when we had dial up. We for about half a year had about 3.4kbs download/about the same upload. It was crazy. But back then we didn't really know if it was really bad or not lol. I did though since at school it was way faster.

Interesting...

Adelphia is trying to pull a similar dupe with me.

I have Cox here in west Florida and couldn't be happier with what they provide me. Either I got lucky or my standards are very low. Of course I don't download much stuff very often. No music, movies or the like.

Try a tracert to a popular site like anus.com?
Try accessing 192.168.100.1 through a browser - it's your modem's page in most cases to look at RF signal levels.
