Vomitgawd the Holy Priest is no more. :(

I cancelled my WoW subscription last night after playing nonstop since open beta (technically my last day is the 26th of this month). He was a great and honorable member of the Forsaken and several guilds -most notibily Blackwatch. 4/8 Devout, 1/2 way to my Epic Mount, and made a ton of friends. I was the type of player that found it hard to fit the 5-8 hours straight for the bigger raids (MC,BWL) into my schedule, but a 2-3 hour 5-man was more my speed for my schedule (two jobs and a wife....so maybe thats 3 jobs? lol).

I certainly don't regret any of the time I spent playing the game because it really was great fun, especially when using voice communication during raids. Lots of great conversations and memorable moments which I thank everyone for. I've done MC several times (I never was able to get an Epic, but thats no ones fault but my own) and we are currently gearing up for BWL.

WoW was my first real MMORPG I clung to, although my 3rd attempt behind Asherons Call II and SWG. I'll definitely be back for the expansion pack to run Vomitgawd or another character to 70.

Now to play all those games that I missed during the past year and a 1/2....

:( As a side note, if you join a good guild MC = 2-3 hours (maybe even less) and BWL can easily be split into 2 days of a few hours.

Make sure you delete your character too. That way it's harder to reactivate your account.

On a side note, I got tired of the game. Now a friend of mine has been playing the trial version after cancelling a while back, possibly considering subscribing again. As much fun as it was, I know the right choice for me is not playing anymore.

Its tough to get epics if you don't run MC or BWL enough to get enough DKP to outbid. Its that grinding that was making it tough for me to get the purples. But, the fact that I didnt have any purples doesnt mean I didnt have good times. ;)

I quit the game several months ago as well... Playing EQ2 and am anxiously waiting for Star Wars: Empire at War & Battle for Middle Earth 2... Can't wait, but I will have to wait at least one month :-(

I had a 60 Priest and a 60 Warrior... I could never go back. It is done.

You'll be back. I went back. I even deleted my two level 60 characters (one had 5/8 Felheart).

I was so convinced that I was "free" and that my life would resume normalcy. Came back after 3 months. I am weak. =(

I doubt it, I am not so weak when it comes to addictions, most that is :D Seriously, I have absolutely no desire to play the game anymore and it has been like that for months... So, who knows... Plus, my life has changed a lot in the last three months, so I doubt I will ever be playing games for more than 2 - 3 hours at a time.

Hell, I've been playing for over a year and I don't have any Epic Gear either.

Months-old profile (I have some BeastStalker pieces now)

We are starting to run ZG however.

Actually from all the DKP related stories I've heard, and how many hours grinding for epics in MC/BWL etc I've been happily surprised this is not the case for the guild I've joined up with. The first "raid" was 3 attempts on Gehnnas, but prohphecy vambraces dropped and I got that. Total time spent in MC, about an hour and a half. Then last night, we killed lucy and magmadar again and mags dropped my pants. Total time spent in less than two hours. Granted we aren't MC pros or anything, but we try to down a few target bosses and call it a day. I know this may offend some people, but epics on given out with rolls. *dramatic music* We are still trying to fill out a full 40 man, so to be fair to the non-guildies that join us we let *everyone* roll on their class gear. I've just been lucky and pulled good numbers when I was there. I think that vambraces dropped a little before I got there, but since I had a pair and wasn't in to begin with it of course went to some other lucky stiff. :)

I still need to get some enchants done on my new gear. "/cry"

AC2 > WoW

AC2 held my fancy until a few months before they shut it down, from the original beta. WoW held my fance for 4 months.

Man no epics either of you? I found the epic hammer of the northern winds TWICE on regular non elite! A lumberjack in plaguelands and a naga in azshara :)

I had a staff of jordan too, but I didn't personally find that.

Oh, found a sweet epic ring in maraudon on a slime as well.

I think there were some others from instances bosses but I don't recall exactly what they were.

iirc i had under 20 days /played when I quit.

I still don't see the point of farming for the "sets". The set bonuses are rather weak, save perhaps magisters isn't too bad. Though the combined +spell, +healing,+mana stats on other blue drops destroy the "set" bonuses. You could grab the hat from strat, and the pants from the first ogre in lbrs and have a bigger spell bonus than devout or dreadmist. I've just never saw the appeal of farming for the sets when individual pieces were far greater.

Just talked to another friend of mine who is playing right now. I think when you have RL friends who still play the game, it's easier to jump back in. I feel like ATOT is my new form of entertainment online w/o WoW.
