Otherwise, that actually looks like an interesting idea. We need one strong enough to hold a dslr and a wide angle. A canon one.
 
interesting idea....i'm sure that you got to have something along a 5% "keeper" rate. May be worth it for those who don't want to be snapping many photos over dinner, but still want the pictures 😉
 
It probably doesn't work half as well as the video makes it look, but it's a cool concept; I might buy a second or third-gen version 🙂
 
yeah, take it to a club, and put it on the floor.. get some nice upskirts!! hopefully someone will be like britney spears..
 
It seems to sense teeth and only takes picture when people bare their fangs. I don't know how that might affect finbarqs' suggestion.
 
Don't have links atm but I have seen them on Minolta/KM/Sony related forums.
iirc both Minolta & Konica seperately did something similar at 1 time (albeit not as advanced because the electronics weren't then).
What is mildly interesting is that it's Sony (who bought KM's camera division) that have brought it back - I wonder if they are reusing old Konica & Minolta patents?
