so i buy something online. it is shipped FEDEX. i track the package. it arrives in hawaii (where i live), on thursday, put on the truck on friday, but some how it is "not due for shipping" and goes back to the warehouse. the next day, TODAY, i call them up, they don't deliver, so i ask them if i can go ahead and pick it up myself. but they say, "it's due to be shipped on monday, you can't pick it up until one attempt has been made to drop off by one of our workers."

WTF, this is BS!

I've always hated that policy. It seems both FedEx and UPS both want to attempt atleast one delivery before they will let you pick it up. It's so inconvenient at times when it would be the most convenient.

the thing that gets me is the fact that it WAS on the truck, then came back because it wasn't due for delivery. WTF is that? i thought they'd want to ship as fast as possible...

They want their money's worth out of the shipping and handling.

THey sent it back for more handling. Sorry. :)

yeah they hadn't tossed around your box enough so they had to send it back

Its also the reason why they can charge u more for "faster" shipping. Think about it, if you pay for 7 day shipping and it gets to you in 3 days then why pay for 3 day shipping.

That's what UPS in this area told me. I can pick up from Fedex Express before they make their first attempt. Now... If you're talking about Fedex Ground, then yeah, maybe... I don't know how they do stuf. I just know that they suck nuts. They managed to lose my package, recover, lose it again, recover it again, then finally deliver. Die Fedex Ground!

FedEx... grr. I recently had something shipped from thezeb.com and the box had been completely opened, ripped to shreds, taped back together, and arrived looking like it had been under the heaviest box on the truck with half the seams split apart.

Luckily, it was a car audio wiring kit.

Same thing with UPS so don't change carriers yet!

I had a package to arrive yesterday that wasn't delivered because it had an incorrect zip, and I have to wait til monday (and can't pick it up today at the distrib center) because it has to have atleast 1 delivery attempt also.

My FedEx location will turn packages over to the customers - if the package has been taken out of the crate. If it's still bundled on the shipping crate, then no-go. However, I thought FedEx unloaded their trucks each evening and they didn't keep items on them. Maybe, I'm wrong, though.

I hate the same problem when I got my Intel Combo shipped via UPS. They would not let me pick the package up and they lied to me once. By the way, I also live in Hawaii :)

HEY MORONS!

You get what you pay for! Pay for 2Day FEDEX - you will get it in 2 days. Pay for Next Day FEDEX - you will get it the next day.

Don't complain if you opt for the "cheap-ass" delivery version.

LOL

Should have shipped it Airborne. Only company I have ever seen where you can ship something via ground and have it arrive the next am (especially when you shipped it for free via Officemax's coupons),,,,,:)

That's not true. I have picked up my packages several times before they attempted to deliver... Weird.

It all depends on how helpful they want to be at the time you call.

this isnt bs. all shipping companies do this. however, if the warehouse is full, they will ship early.

Though I can't be certain, it would be odd for them to seal it with their own thezeb brand security tape that says "if broken, check contents before signing" and then tape it up with some cheap clear packing tape. It was all there, but nobody at my house signed for it - it was left at the door.

Lol at that response below. Probably not. House is on an acre and a half of land, neighbors aren't exactly like those in an apartment.
