We got like 8" of rain today. I abandoned my car in a parking area (properly parked, of course, to ward off towers).

So, I walked two miles in the water to get here and post about.

If my car isn't there, I'm going to hurt someone. The last time this happened I lost my car and it was the start of the worst period in my life.

Wunderground said we got .21" of rain. There's no way. There are cars stranded everywhere. There's 18" of water in many of the roads.

where are you?

South East Louisiana (just outside of New Orleans).

Wow, I hope it doesn't hit up north any. There was some strong wind earlier, but other than that it's been a pretty sunny day.

Yeah, we've had a wet summer. I think we're up to 52" or so, and we haven't even had a hurricane yet.

Meh, I'm fine. I woke up at 6am and walked to get my car at around 6:45. I just got back, it was only like two miles.

What really got me was the ricers with cars that are 1" off of the ground. Here's a tip: If I'm wading in water over my knees, your Civic with the 40 gallon muffler isn't going to make it, no matter now much "NAWS!!!1" you use.

The rain was in a very small swath from Mandeville to Slidell. The water came within 1 inch of coming in the house here. I've got some great video and still pics of the streets and yard becoming a river and things floating down. It's good thing we didn't get Bonnie in here, we needed to dry out.

That was dry. ;)

In the summer, if we don't get about an inch of rain every three days, we're having a dry spell. Those were tropical storm sized rains. You can imagine what would happen in NO if a big storm hit. It would be chaos.

How are you liking it down here? I just noticed that you PMed me about an hour ago. I never see those things.
