1977 GMC Sierra Grande 2500, 4WD.
The scene: My brother. Offroad. Trail. "Like 5mph". Lose traction=>tree.
The kid is 16 years old. No driver's license. No learner's permit. He works on the adjacent farm, so we let him drive the non-street-legal (read: beater) truck over there offroad. On his way home today, he had a minor incident. Dad and I had just gotten home from the auto parts store (coincidence), and he comes walking up the hill from the farm. "I hope you two don't have anything else to do today." "Why?" "I totalled the truck."
Asked if he was okay, he was like "NO! I TOTALLED THE TRUCK!!!!" "Physically, retard." "I DON'T CARE!" blahblahblah. Anyway, we take a hike down to where he left it. You'll note that not once did he help, he just sulked around. He's the kid in the orange traffic cone.
My words at this moment: "That'll buff right out." Yes, I really said that.
This side looks pretty good.
If this were a '97, that tree would be somewhere in the cab.
I've seen worse.
So much for there being a passenger-side door
Sh!t man, that'll still run. Minor fan blade/alternator clearance problem, though.

Well, it worked.
The tree took it worse than the truck.
Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of us ripping the hood open with a crowbar because I was busy applying pressure to the hood latch lever.
Hell, that ain't bad at all.
No clearance issues on this side.
After a good bit of finnagling to get it back into drive after we unlocked both differentials to push it, it ran just fine... with the hood up and the driver ducking down to look through the gap
