That was the worst episode of South Park ever!

It didn't really have a point...

It was more an attempt at shock value than actual comedy :p

Definitely.

But I can say the part where the doctor pulls Stan aside and tells him that the kid will go down faster than Steve Irwin in a tank full of sting rays was the funniest thing I've heard all week.

I missed almost the entire episode except for the slaughter by the wings. I didn't see most of the cancer jokes.

I agree it lacked on overall comedy, but I thought it did have a point... the whole "if we just believe and try hard enough, we can overcome the odds" cliche is ridiculously overdone.

Maybe but the "if you don't win this hockey game, that kid will die faster than Steve Irwin in a tank full of stingrays!" comment SURE IS!

I liked it, mainly because of what Gibsons already mentioned. They really tore that cliche a new one. It was deffinitely not their normal show style, but maybe they felt like mixing it up. The only annoying thing was how old that narrator got, like a bad family guy joke.

south park can really strike a couple ppl's nerves from time to time... but its funny as hell and that's the point anyway! :)

i've only watched 1 episode from the 10th season and that was the WoW one but i'm playing catch-up right now.... i'll get to it eventually!

i loved that episode where they send the orca to the moon though... that was priceless

"I'm just his father. You're his coach....you're like a father to him."

I thought that was the best line in the episode.

After watching it again at 11 PM last night, I still think it's the worst episode of South Park that I've ever seen (and I'm failry certain that I've seen every episode). They could have made their point without making the episode so depressing.

I think that was their entire point...the whole episode was rather somber and a bit depressing...who didnt want to see the South Park peewee hockey team win at the Pepsi center, and save the kid dying of cancer.

That the show ends with the Red Wings beating the crap out of a pee wee hockey team is so utterly ridiculous, it makes for a brilliant South Park moment.

And I kind of liked the announcer with the record player thing...sure it got old after a while.

The show was basically making fun of sappy Hollywood movie cliches...and did a very good job of it.

However, the episode did have a strange pace to it compared to the rest of this season...then again, they haven't done a "Stan" episode in a while.
