So, last weekend, all my bills hit. My CapitalOne credit card came due on Saturday the 16th. Minimum payment was $22, no big deal, really, I was just waiting for some reimbursement checks to be written. So it was the bottom priority bill - I had $21 and some change left in my checking account after paying everybody their slice. Fvck. Headed off to the bank to deposit the emergency cash stash.

10 16 SEP PAST DUE FEE 29.00

However, upon returning from said bank, it was now 5:05PM (says so on the confirmation page I printed). Capitalone does not process payments after 5:00PM on weekends. In fact, they don't process until Monday.

Think I can call them up and beg to get that dropped? Things are balancing tightly enough as it is, without spending $29 for being 5 minutes late clicking submit and the associated buttfvcking of everything else. The account is fairly new - only three months old.

Other than "The internet doesn't close, dickweed." and "I was making a minimum payment, you're going to make money anyway", I don't have much.

If any credit card company ever says "I'm gonna need to see your bank statement" for any reason other than correcting a double-payment, they'll be short a customer.

Can't hurt to try. And quit spending so much that you can only pay the minimum payment on your credit cards!

Eh, I got an overdraft charge dropped once when they could by rights have left it on.

It's worth a shot. Especially since it's within minutes of the deadline. Say your clock's slow or something.

I abused that credit card for a few work purchases, and they were slower than expected when dishing out the reimbursements. Won't be doing THAT again. Don't care if it means I need to sit around and do nothing for a week, purchase orders and company checks are superior to being fvcked in the bum by a credit card company.

I'm wondering if I should go for that approach, or the truth, that I had NO FVCKING IDEA that they didn't process fulltime on Saturdays.
