That time of year again... the 2 week death march before exams!

Here at my college we have 2 weeks of class left before exams start. I have a copious number of final assignments all due around the same time. I'm trying to grab the low-hanging fruit and be done with a few of my classes so I can focus on the main ones.

I generally find that the death march of assignments and research papers is much more difficult than the actual exams-- I know the exam material well enough, but the deadlines for the assignments, the lack of sleep, all that... drives me nuts. I average 3-4 hours of sleep per night during this 2 weeks and that includes my weekends.

Good luck to everyone--its going to be hell!

(I have 6 classes and a part-time job. Employer wouldn't give me time off, either. Whee!)

If it makes you feel any better, I have 9 classes, a part time job, and a Wii that demands far more of my attention than it should.

Yes, my teacher in my MIS class gave me a bunch of crap due all at once that teaches me nothing. Group project, nobody helps; excel project that isn't on syllabus, wtf?; individual ethics paper, why god why!

Good luck. In your time of suffering, know that at least one other person is getting their azz handed to 'em ;)

Why do you guys worry about finals so much. They are by far the easiest tests of the year. You should already know the material. I always laughed at people struggling to study for finals. I just never understood it.

Ditto. It should be more of a review than anything. Heck, studying for any exam should be review.

But goodluck to all.

No. Re-read my post. Two weeks of class still, but with a near dozen assignments due. At my college there is no break between exams and final weeks of class. You are expected to work right up until the Sunday with many things due the Sunday evening, with exams starting Monday morning @ 9 AM.

As I stated in the OP, the exams are the easy part. Research papers, lots of code (which likely has to be optimized, needs to be debugged, and figure out why it won't work the way it should), labs and presentations all culminating in a short period of time is what really sucks. We've had a semester to prepare for most of it, but plenty of it has to be reworked as per the professors recommendations (especially the research projects) and the likes. Sucks if you try to maintain a 4.0 for grad school.

I have one week between exam and paper due in Statistics. Healthcare finance wasn't much of a challenge until yesterday. the Pr0f reduced the % of the midterm since it was take home (his fault) and increased the weight of the final to 40%. We protested but he relented.
