For the Americans here... did that whole conversation ever strike you as something indicative of the true freedom we have in the USA? Just watching the movie now and that really struck a nerve, to think of the freedom and mobility we have as a people.

Capt. Vasili Borodin: I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?
Captain Ramius: I suppose.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: No papers?
Captain Ramius: No papers, state to state.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Well then, in winter I will live in... Arizona. Actually, I think I will need two wives.
Captain Ramius: Oh, at least.

Absolutely! As we toured the country in an RV last year, we kept thinking about that. No papers!

Hell yeah, because the USA is the only country in the world where you can marry a fat chick and drive around the country.

He left out eating fast food, putting big rims on your car, and so many other freedoms we enjoy.

Must have been written by some lefty liberal nut job.

Yea, that ol' Tom Clancy sure is one lefty liberal nut job.

"Clancy has generally been regarded as a political conservative, and has donated over US$256,000 to Republican Party political candidates."

When he spoke of Arizona and needing 2 wives, was this some kind of polygamy problem. Are polygamists russian too?

The other thing that's scary about Arizona are all the hate groups that have formed out in hte desert. I'm not all that concerned....at least it's a dry hate.

No papers, but you'll need a drivers license, registration and maybe proof of insurance.
