I don't even know the name of the song. Something about aphyxiation, death, whatever. I just love the beat. And that scratchy sound.

Questions:
1) what is the name of the song?
2) what makes that scratchy sound? A bass guitar?

The Song is "Time Is Running Out." Not sure what you mean by the scratchy sound, but the bass does have a heavy fuzz effect on it, and I think that's what you're describing.

It is so hard to describe sounds. But it's a buzzy, scratchy, hummy sound that you hear as part of the song in two parts: the beginning and right before the final verse.
