There is a traffic light on a major freeway here and I just got rear-ended by a 2005 Suzuki something something SUV. I was rolling as the light was turning green and the cars in front of me were going and BAM. I got all of his information and managed to get myself home (this literally happened 20 minutes ago) but man oh man my neck hurts :(

pics coming

If you'd had quick enough reflexes to dodge out of the way (like that lady in the Highlander, right?) you'd have avoided the collision.

Why people choose to buy cars that don't react automatically to impending collisions is BEYOND me.

there's a huge difference between something in your rearview when you're at a jammed traffic light and headlights you see through your fvcking windshield

THere's a 50/50 chance my mustang is totalled. If the mounts on the quarter panels are in the least bit damaged, that'll probably push it over :(

Have you called your insurance company yet? You may want to stop by the hospital now, so there will be a record of your injury..that way the other driver's insurance company can't say that it wasn't from the accident.

Well, here's my problem. The pain is mildly annoying right now and I'm sure it will dissipate with time... I'm a little conflicted with that...

This guy is a postal worker. I recognize his adress and it's from a lousy part of town... I've always wanted to think that I'd never go after anyone for pain and suffering unless there was clear mallice involved. This is just a poor guy who did his 8-5 and everyone makes mistakes. It's my understanding that there's no real treatment for wiplash anyway so I figure I may as well just live with it.

Mabye I'm just naive.

THere's a body shop nearby that is closley affiliated with my insurance company... I figured I'd bring it over there and proceed from there.

The problem with the damage is that to the untrained eye, you really can't see anything. The bumper is a little scuffed up.... but the part that I'm concerned about is the joints between the bumper and the quarterpanels where it looks like they've been rammed together... this is either going to be a big nothing, or my car is going to be totalled.... bent frame, shattered supports and crushed foam... or *nothing*
