some people quoted the OP, and the original link is still in the quotes. Can they be edited out? Thanks.

They got one, still one left that I saw. Never ceases to amaze me that people will write that something is so terrible no one should have to ever look upon it - and then repost the link again and again and again.

The reason for the quoting is not "to post it again" - it's to solidify the incriminating evidence in case the OP edits it out.

Normal policy is to change the links when the original is; but that's rather difficult in a locked thread.

I guess , if the mods are going to lock the threads, then "normal policy" might have to undergo a change. I don't think the mods should have to sift through hundreds of replies to find all the instances where someone has preserved the incriminating evidence. I would think the object would be to have the OP realize the error and edit out the offensive material without having to resort to moderation - you know, peer pressure stuff. Maybe the mods will have to resort to deleting the entire threads like they did with the one that had the cat video . Whatever the solution, the quoting thing, at least lately, doesn't seem to be working. :(

The Mods have the same searching ability as the rest of us. They can simply search for the offending link to see if it still appears anywhere in the database and then remove it.

In that particular case, the entire thread should be deleted - imo. ;)

Hundreds of people saw it and there is no purpose to "preserving it" - even as a "warning".

What warning? Nothing happened to the OP.

i meant "even as" . . . ;)
(some locked posts are left Up and some even stickied, as a warning of what NOT to post)

chu was not banned but "warned" by the mod as it was locked.

I still think it should be simply deleted.

Maybe. It was locked on 9/7, but edited again on 9/9 and the phrase "Bye Bye" was added by the moderator. That, plus seeing as Chu hasn't been logged in since 9/9, was why I thought he was banned now.

You sir, are correct. I didn't see the edit.
