Dude you gotta take pics and then make the thread, that's how it works.

This waiting and tracking the thread is aggravating :p

Dear Joshua XXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for requesting a Return Merchandise Authorization number from Newegg.com. Please print this page and enclose it with your return!

Your RMA number is XXXXXX19.

This RMA number is valid for 14 days only. It will expire on 5/31/2005.
Please be advised that an RMA number does not extend the warranty coverage or refund period. For example, the 30-day refund period will end on the 30th day from your original invoice date, regardless of the RMA issue/expiration date.

Please also note that you will be deducted for any missing part or accessory (i.e. cables, manual, driver disc, etc.). You must return the item in its entirety. Whatever you originally received in your order is what must be returned to Newegg.com.

hmmmmmmm

They have done that to me before:roll: It happens. They also were quick to correct the mistake and send me a box with something actually inside:)

the cardboard box IS the enclosure. put your drive in there. that's what the foam pads are for.

newegg refurbs aren't what they used to be. the days of ultra cheap video cards and insane mobo deals are gone.

Actually, if you contact them, and let them know of the problem, they'll likely either pay for the return shipping, or possibly just tell you to keep it, and refund your money.

I bought a refurb'd motherboard a couple years ago, when refurbs were worth getting, and got a box with the mobo inside. No foam peanuts, no bubble wrap, just a mobo and a shipping receipt. That motherboard had bounced around so much that capacitors were bent over at severe angles, and pins were bent over parallel to the board, so badly beat up that it wasn't even worth checking to see if it worked or not.

I called newegg's customer service, and told them of the problem. They apologized to me, and told me to go ahead and send it back to them. Once they got it back, they would not only refund the amount it cost me in the first place, but they'd also credit back my credit card for the amount of the postage it cost me to ship it back to them. Sure enough, they did, and left me a happier customer for it.

Bottom line? Give them a chance to fix it. If that doesn't happen, then you can look at options like getting your credit card company involved. Chances are, though, that Newegg will once again earn it's great reseller rating. :)
