Ok, it's an hour long show. NOTHING HAPPENED for over 50 minutes.

There is NO PLOT. Oh "terrorists have a nuclear bomb in LA!" Gee, that's never been done before.

WTF does some guy beating hos wife have to do with anything?

So we've got a mentally disturbed ex special forces guy or something. That's original. Then we've got a completely unrelated domestic abuse case...

This show sucks ass. Why the hell do you like it?

I can't beleive I watched the whole thing after nothing happened for the first half an hour...

I think you may have gone retarded. The show takes place over an hour in real-time. What could you possibly expect to get done in an hour? Also, this is a series of 24 shows, in case you haven't noticed, and this was what's called a "setup" which is generally the first part of a story.

It is supposed to piss you off. It takes many episodes to get the plot and then all the twists come up. There are 24 episodes to a season and that was the first. Each episode represent one hour of time. You will have to watch several more to start understanding the plot for the new season and to figure out all the twists.

It's episode 1 dude, all set up. All those subplots will be played out to their entirety with many twists.

When they said that nuclear bomb was going to detonate sometime over the course of the day, you didn't think it would happen this episode, did you? If so, you didn't do your homework with the show. It's not all about squeezing it all into 60 minutes and the world becomes a better place till the next episode. It's about it being 24 hours long and building up suspense.

We can understand how you'd be pissed if you were looking for something to happen right away (and s#!t did happen), but its creativity and suspense factors are what keeps you watching throughout the season. It's what its touted for. So settle down, Beavis... and kick off your shoes and grab a beer... for another thriller of a season.

Premiere episode will be airing again Monday Nov. 4 on FX (usually does, right before the next new ep). Alternatively, you can find the 500MB commercial-free MPG on IRC (most times even before it airs).

I realize it takes place over 24 hours. Still, you'd think they could try to make each episode at least mildly interesting. You can complain about my attention span if you want, but I have other stuff to do besides spending 24 straight hours watching TV. By the time I get ti find out what happens with the bomb, I will have watched Star Trek 10 and The Two Towers.

Even besides the fact that's it's way too long and boring:
The plot isn't even slightly original.
The domestic abuse thing has nothing to do with it
It's PC enough to make me puke. "We don't want to piss anyone off, so we won't say the name of the country." "Let's make sure to make it obvious that the witness is a child molester. No one will care if we kill a child molester"
Then we've got the other highly original and unique elements of the plot: Ex secret ops guy called back to work cause he's the only one who can do the job.
President is highly motivated by morals, but has to contend with a corrupt militray that wants to bomb everything they can....

I found NOTHING about the show interesting. If you like it, great....

If you think the domestic abuse angle has nothing to do with it, you weren't watching the show. There are government agents on their way to pick up his daughter. Do you really think she's going to go now that she knows this child and mother are being beaten? This is what's called, "conflict." This is what makes stories dynamic. I think someone needs a lesson in story telling that's not from George Lucas. :p
