There is a reason it is called "private" message. If I desired or intended for it to be posted publicly, I would have done so. My reasons for wanting it kept out of public view are not your's to question, second-guess, or to up-stage.

I will not ask that you edit it because I shouldn't have to. It would be like asking you to remove your hand from my pocket or your car from my living room.

Whatever. Y'know, if you're looking for a deal, you really shouldn't be such a jerk. Try being polite and you might get places. Rudeness gets you nowhere except on a disrespect list buddy.

Note to Self: Should have known someone going by a juvenile handle rooted in terms used only among 12 year-olds would be a smarmy little whose only power in the entire world is anonymous disrespect from miles away.
To the Moderator:

This is the first time in nearly 10 years online I've ever felt compelled to
request moderator intervention in a forum, and I hope its the last.

In the forum "Software - Apps, Programming, and Games" I created a
thread named "Wanted: Simple Website (10 pages max)". I supplied the
domain of my sister's website via Private Message to persons who inquired,
believing that the content of a "Private Message" is absolutely
self-explanatory - to remain private.

Member "LeetestUnleet" then disclosed my sister's website to the
public forum in what appears to be infantile motives of 'revenge' or 'vigilantism' in
response to what he views as my being 'rude' to another member. Other members
did not find my comment rude at all. Whatever the interpretation, the comments
did not involve nor concern him.

I do not have my sister's permission to publicly disclose her website nor her
personal information, which can be obtained from the website, nor did I give
that permission to LeetestUnleet. You can see by this infantile 'revenge' and
'vigilantism' mentality, my worry is now that my sister will be harrassed using
the personal information that can be obtained there.

Respectfully, I am requesting that LeetestUnleet's post be edited by a moderator
to remove this unauthorized disclosure of information communicated in confidence
through private message.

See, this is what I am talking about. Is this the way "adults" do business? I was under the impression that f-aggot was somewhat of a juvenile term. Im astounded that someone so mature would resort to something this brash and tactless.

Then again, I would be one of those 12 year-old smarmy little f-ggot's whose only power in the entire world is anonymous disrespect from miles away, wouldn't I? So I mustn't know any better, right?

I can't speak for everyone, but I have to say that I would rather not do business with someone like this.

This is how adults get when some limp dick discloses confidential information potentially affecting someone's family members for no other reason than because they have a need to compensate for some feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy (and possibly to encourage illegal activity).

EvanB, you would be wise to quit while you're ahead. This doesn't concern you, it isn't your battle, no comments here affect you or your life in the least, unless AMDFanBoy is your boyfriend or something, and even then it would be questionable what business you have here. AMDFanBoy seems capable of speaking up for himself.

Here you go again, taking shots at my sexual orientation. Is this webpage of hers a secret, members only type website? Isn't it a publicly available website? How can you object to someone posting it? Isn't that the point of the website, to advertise the business? What is your problem? Why not stop taking shots at everyone for long enough to actually attempt to attract some business? You really baffle me.

Unbelieveable.

Edit:

Wow. How the hell is the website "confidential information?" You really baffle me.

Here you go again, taking shots at my sexual orientation.
Again? You poor confused person, apparently have me mixed up with someone else. Why are you getting so defensive about your sexual orientation, guarding it from 'attacks' that don't exist? Are you usually this hyper-sensitive about this issue?

In your hyper-defensive reaction to what seems to be a very touchy matter for you, you utterly missed the forest. You have absolutely no business here except to harrass me. AMDFanBoy has seemingly left well enough alone, realizing that his offer was badly misguided as a response to someone CLEARLY SEEKING PAID PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, not free templates. The comments here have nothing to do with you and don't affect your life in the least.

You may stop posting here any time.
Is this webpage of hers a secret, members only type website? Isn't it a publicly available website? How can you object to someone posting it? Isn't that the point of the website, to advertise the business?
When, where, and in the manner of my own choosing, not someone else's. I am not here to advertise for her, nor could any reasonable person possibly infer this from the nature of my request.

When her website is disseminated for malicious reasons, as LeetestUnleet has foolishly confessed to and I have documented, even you should see the problem with that.
How the hell is the website "confidential information?"
The content of a "private message" is presumed private, communicated with the presumption of confidence. It is not called "public message". This is elementary stuff here. Nobody is that stupid, and I am left to conclude that your ignorance is feigned deliberately to support your blatant trolling.

Without commenting on all of the other back-and-forth snarking in this thread (which has gotten pretty infantile all around at this point), let me just say this: the fact that an URL was provided to you in a private message and you then posted it publicly is a breach of trust, regardless of whether the URL is publicly accessible or not.

Example: when I was in the process of building the corporate website I've been working on since last summer, for several months it was being accessed by various company individuals for testing via an unpublished URL and path, one that we specifically came up with so that we could test it across the Internet but random people wouldn't be stumbling across it. That URL would have worked for anyone, but we didn't want anyone and everyone to have it, for reasons that should be fairly obvious. If I had sent that URL to you so that you could see the site as a precursor to possibly be hired to do some work on it, would you have also felt it your right to post it publicly? I can tell you this much: if you had done so, I'd for darned sure be livid about it (because of all of the work I'd have to go through to change the path to something else to keep the public from nosing through our unfinished pages, messing with our test database contents, etc), and you can bet your bottom dollar I wouldn't have hired you in a million years to do anything on it since you were so clearly untrustworthy.

You couldn't have described yourself any better.

EvanB, you would be wise to quit while you're ahead. From my experience in life, people who question others sexuality are the ones who are confused.

This is how adults get when some limp dick discloses confidential information potentially affecting someone's family members for no other reason than because they have a need to compensate for some feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy

Do you have erectile problems as well?

Again? You poor confused person, apparently have me mixed up with someone else. Why are you getting so defensive about your sexual orientation, guarding it from 'attacks' that don't exist? Are you usually this hyper-sensitive about this issue?

You seem to have some issues with your sexuality once again.

Thank you, Emily Post. Now if you don't mind, the adults have some business to do. The Whine and Wimper Room is third door on the left.

You sound far from an adult.

Uhg, I do believe that's even worse than the one she wants to replace.

A simple no thank you would have done.

You are really out there dude. You go from using "big" words to lovely human. If you are so worried for your sisters safety, then maybe she shouldn't have a webpage with her information in it.

You come across as a 5'0 350 pound kid that plays way to much Everquest.

Great. Another imbecile chiming in that, because a few people think a I made a rude comment, while others clearly do not, and thus we have an issue of fundamental interpretation, it is perfectly acceptable for trolls to start harassing me and a 90lb weakling to maliciously divulge information given to him in confidence, though I've already apologized to the person I was alleged to have offended. And this, in their little insignificant childish minds, makes it all ok. Grow up!

Thank you to those adults who have weighed in on matters of maturity, decorum, and confidence. I wandered into a forum dominated by juvenile delinquents posting from Mom's computer, foolishly expecting a level of conduct and maturity it appears few know anything about. What was I thinking?

It won't be a mistake soon repeated.

On Edit: And thank you to the AT Moderator.

This is funny. The usual...party A comes in asking, party B offers, party A insults party B. Party C sticks up for party B. Party A comes back acting like a hero defending his righteousness when really, hero started the skirmish. Party A cannot contain his big-headedness, tattles to a moderator and even posts his Courageous Deed for the world to see. Everyone sees that our hero is nothing more than the immature 12-year-old that he is accusing everyone to be. Finally, a lurker like myself makes a post like this :)

Hm, apparently I?m a f-ggot now. Not that I have anything against them and am hardly considered a homophobe, but no, I am not into male-on-male action. Sorry if that disappoints you.

Haha, ?a juvenile handle rooted in terms used only among 12 year-olds?? I must say, the fact that you are resorting to insulting my handle really amazes me, seeing as it has NOTHING to do with the issue at hand AT ALL. Clearly, you have run out of points to make and are resorting to flaming. For your information, this is actually my second account since I couldn?t remember the password on my first one, and the email address it was bound to had gone defunct so I couldn?t retrieve it. If you?ll notice, the handle is also rooted in making FUN of the word ?leet?, hence the ?unleet? part. But I guess a sense of humor is lost on you. Also, as far as disrespect, I was just stating that I had lost all respect for you and your credibility, even more so now that I?ve read through your entire thread, still calling me names, insulting my sexuality and my bedside manner when I have not yet responded. Way to go; you never cease to amaze me. What?s next, your momma jokes?

Infantile? Revenge? Vigilantism? Wow. Now I'm an infantile f-ggot. Actually, I was trying to be kind and do you a favor by showing the website for all to see who wanted to offer their services. It had nothing to do with the fact that you were being rude to others. I was trying to HELP, and since when is free advertisement a bad thing?

Now I?m impotent? I?m an infantile impotent f-ggot? I must have missed the advertisement for ?Viagra for Gay Men?, but please, if you see it again, please tell me the contact information since I?m apparently in such need of it. What the hell are you babbling about, ?compensate for some feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy (and possibly to encourage illegal activity).? Ah yes, heaven forbid someone VISITS your sister?s site! They might hack it! And steal her contact information! And stalk her! And kill her because she?s a veterinarian and some people just HATE veterinarians! Or, I know! They could be CUSTOMERS! What a concept! Your sister obviously doesn?t have as much concern for herself as you do, or else she wouldn?t have posted that information on the website that she made for herself. Do you doubt her ability to fend for herself now as well? Also, as I said before, I was simply trying to make things easier for you. If this is how you like to deal business, I?m glad this thing came up and you found someone else, since you probably wouldn?t have liked my design and called me a f-ggot again. I wasn?t aware that adults ?did business? by tattling to mommy. I thought the whole point of handling it like an adult was to be able to handle your own issues without crying to mommy.

Wow, you?re really into the whole ?homosexuality is bad? thing, aren?t you? If you?re going to insult someone, please at least back it up with a logical argument. You have no proof that any of us here are gay, and my calling you a jerk WAS backed up because you were being rude, in my opinion. Tell me, how do my comments here make me, AMDFanBoy, or EvanB gay? Guys, I think we need to have a gay threesome just to please tcsenter.

When did I EVER confess to disseminating your sister?s website for malicious reasons? Please tell me where I said that, since you have it documented and all, because I can?t find it. But then again, I?m an infantile foolish impotent f-ggot, so I must be less than dirt.

I would like this issue to be left as is, now that I have had the opportunity to defend myself. For the record, I did nothing to make you believe I had ill intentions, nor have I confessed to being:
a.) a hacker with malicious intent of stalking your sister or taking down her website
b.) homosexual
c.) impotent

I have:
a.) Offered my services
b.) Tried to help, but had it rudely refused and reported to a moderator
c.) Been flamed for the above

So excuse me for living.
