With the team passing the 500mil marker I was curious as to how much of those blocks have gone through mikas proxy. I did some quick math and it turns out that about 38% of all the teams blocks went through mikas proxy at one time. That is a huge number of blocks(and stats updates). It works out to 322982blocks per day going through mikas pproxy in the relatively short 587 days that we've been using it. And that rate is going up. Just look at yesterdays stats on mikas, "599253 blocks were completed yesterday (0.00087203% of the keyspace)at a sustained rate of 1.86 Gkeys/sec!".
I, as a roundrobin pproxy operator know how fast the log files get large. The roundribin is hopefully doing a good job at reducing the load on mikas pproxy, but I haven't actually seen any statements from Mika on that. Maybe He'll read this post and give us an idea. If thats even possible. I cant imagine trying to run stats on even his "small" pproxy. Gives me a whole new perspective on what dnet has to go through with the stats runs. Thanks for all your effort Mika and to all the other roundrobin operators.

there's a reason why Mika was nominated the Most Valuable Cracker awhile back 😉 There's also a reason why he asked us all to increase the block size as much as possible, and to flush as little as possible, so as to decrease log file size / processing.

And one more reason we needed to upgrade the stats box. If we want to continue to have the stats in a timely fashion, it needed more horsepower.

I know I've said this before, but I will continue to say it, thanks Mika for all your hard work. I know the pay is pretty good, but we know why you really do it. You are addicted too!!! 😉

There's a saying that actions speak louder than words, and I think that is definitely true of Mika. It sure is great to have such a mover-and-shaker for a teammate. Mika, thanks for the incredible efforts you have made for this team!

Mika has definately worked himself to the bone. For almost the entire length of the TA.com project, he's worked on the design, DB, and most importantly, my stupid questions.😉 He continues to shine with excellence, and help the team in every way he can. Mika, thanks for everything!😀

This is probably also a fitting occasion to thank Bobberfett, Clueless, BPhantom, Jator, JonArendt, Mandril and TheCool1 (hope I haven't missed anyone) for running the RR proxies. I suspect their pay isn't too great, but I certainly appreciate their efforts. 😀
