I'm 20 years old and this one my first presidential election (got to vote for the CA recall though). For the last few months I've been checking this board very very regularly for news articles, opinions on issues, arguments etc. I'd like to thank everybody, regardless of their stance on the issues for participating and getting me even more fired up when it comes to politics. I'm upset that Kerry didn't win, but I'm almost more upset that my age group didn't show up as expected. I was hoping that the future of America would finally show up and get involved. Hopefully they can do that someday.

Anyways, thank you to everybody who has posted the articles I couldn't find or shared a point of view I hadn't yet thought of. I really appreciate it. I'll still be checking the board just as regularly, but I wanted to share my thanks with EVERYBODY today. Thank you all!

i do have to say that this board has provided me with a ton of information that i did not know or probably never would have heard about...

I agree - thank you to all the people who have partcipated in this process. We are a country of ideas and principles, and it's heartwarming to know we can discuss this on an open forum, no matter how passionate each side is. We don't riot, we don't throw bombs. No matter how divided we seem, we are still more unified than ever, not as republicans or democrats, left or right, but as Americans.

As someone from an older generation, I'd like to return the thanks to all the young folks who have participated in these discussions here and all over the US. It surprised me to see the involvement and interest this time around and I think that level of participation bodes well for the future of this country.

I also have to say thanks. I know there were a lot of heated exchanges here. That makes me proud actually. It shows we give a damn and that is a lot more than I can say for those people who don't vote. Hopefully, we will see an even bigger turnout next election!

I am leaving this section of the forum and going back to the other forums. I hope to see you all there! 🙂

Agreed.

It's mainly due to this board that I discovered the truth about Bush and am now very critical of him whereas I was a huge supporter before.

I'm all for it, but you better watch out. Someone is liable to have a knife.
