Just feel like posting this somewhere as I heard many good things about Crucial RAM, so here's a negative one...
I did Memtest86 on my 2GB PC4000 Ballistix DDR, and in 1 hour 44 mins, it came up with 134 errors. Ok so I got a bad stick, I'm sure it happens to every company, but when trying to exchange it... because I can't pay via credit card (Me and my credit card are from overseas, fair enough, for security reasons, not to accept that) they can't cross ship it. But they'd be ok with me placing another order via bank transfer, keeping the new RAM I get from that order, and then sending them my faulty stuff back, which I'd get credit for. Then they'd send me a cheque for the credit... a good plan, but then they said no since it'a 60 and not 30 days since I purchased it.
So even after telling them I work online, I need this PC, it can't be down for 2 1/2 weeks (their estimate on time)... they wouldn't bend the 30 day rule. :disgust: :|
Thanks oh so much for trying to help with the situtation Crucial 😉 Now my only choice is to buy some more RAM from somewhere, use it while I wait for my new Crucial stuff, then re-sell the temporary RAM. Joy. The quote on the front page of your site, "Want to eliminate the hassle and risk of getting the wrong memory" certainly doesn't apply here.
Anyways, again I just felt there should be some comment on their customer service in the forum archives. If you had a good or bad expereince with it though, feel free to post 🙂
