I bought a used wireless kb and m and the mouse would not sync. I call and talk to tech support and they are sending me a new one!

Surprisingly enough, Microsoft's hardware is pretty dang good. I've been using my wireless ergonomic keyboard for a couple years now and haven't had any problems with it (even after multiple drink spills, drops, etc.). They're pricey but totally worth it!
