I was having an issue with my new wireless router and your site was very helpful. Thanks for keeping it simple and informative, and for the help you give here.

In case it could help anyone else;
Got a newer router, wasn't staying connected but could stay on neighbors with no problems and tried a PCMCIA card too so it was router not card's.
I work LAN support for a huge company but the only wireless experience I have is my own, I don't do side jobs except for family and they are too cheap for broadband. After reading something you said I went back after work and set router back to default and started from scratch, leaving the SSID broadcasting and going step by step instead of being a knowitall and right off the bat changing every setting. I've been on now the longest since I set the thing up yesterday. Also, am using the native XP's WZC instead of the card's utility, WPA2, MAC filtering and DHCP set to only give the number of addresses I have on my LAN.

Sometimes it pays to K.I.S.S
