Thanks for the help guys!

...setting up SETI and joining TeAm Anandtech? Please PM me or reply here if you'd be willing to help as I'd love to join the TeAm and help the cause 🙂

First, we would love to have you as a TeAmmate...thawolfman! 🙂

Smokeball has set up an excellent tutorial, with download links to download SETI, get it started, and join the TeAm.

Smokeball's TeAm AnandTech SETI starter page 🙂

If that page doesn't help you enough, feel free to post again...and we'll break our ARSE 🙂P) to help you! 🙂

Welcome aboard....🙂

I got an email earlier today from SETI(old account that I never used 😱) and it had this link. Should I bother with this, or just download the one off of the tutorial?

The "Special Release Version 3.07 for Windows" is the slow GUI version you shouldn't use.

Download the Command-line Client Version 3.03 (the one that's linked in the tutorial).

1st edit: I'd also recommend you to download SETISpy. It's a nice little program to monitor the progress of the SETI client.

2nd edit: Welcome to the TeAm thawolfman! 😀

Thanks, I've got that up and running now too 🙂

One question I have is, about when does the Estimated Total Time stop rising? I'm at 10.75% and the estimated to tal time is 3:47:19. Just curious, that's all 🙂

Welcome to the TeAm! 😀

Usually, the WU time stops rising around 25% or so....it's usually leveled out by then...but will rise if you are doing something processor intensive. Also, from what I've seen, WU times tend to fall a few minutes or more as they approach the last few %.

That 1.333 TBird looks pretty good on the WU times! 😀

Welcome again! 😀

(P.S. Now time to assimilate family, friends and work....with permission of course! 😉 )

Another question...what happens if I...*GASP*shutdown*GASP* my computer while it's still working on a WU? Will it pick up where it left off or will i screw something up :Q

The client sets up 'checkpoints' while your rig works a WU. If you shutdown or crash, when you restart the client it resumes the WU at the last 'checkpoint' registered. No worries 'bout losing data (unless your HD poops on ya 😉 )

btw... Yeehaa!! Welcome to TeAm SETI!! 😀
