I am going to be upgrading my system with a power supply that has the 24 pin plug, mainly because my other pc needs a new psu, so I might as well take out the True 380 in this pc and move it to my sempron rig with dying psu. Please see my A64 rig specs below and tell me what the best power supply I can get for $80 shipped or under.

My A64 System:

Antec Sonata Case with True 380 psu (new one with 24 on the +12)
DFI Lanparty Ultra -D (no SLI, never will upgrade to SLI)
Leadtek 6600 PCI -E Video Card
Seagate 160GB SATA HDD
NEC 3520A 16x DVD Burner
1GB Corsair Value Ram

PLEASE SEE LAST POST BY ME TO SEE THE (2) CONTENDERS!

should I get the Seasonic 430 for $83 shipped or the Seasonic 500 for $105 shipped?

since that is a seriously low price for a Seasonic 500... but I will never use SLI, and probably never need a 6 pin PCI express connector?

I'd go for the S12-500 myself. But $20 doesn't mean that much to me.

That and a single high-end ATI would make use of the PCIe connector. ^^

maybe the 500 in case you feel like upgrading vid cards down the line... other than that, i can't see any reason not to just go with the 430.

Yeah it's another case of paying more for less upgrade. You're paying around 25% more for about 15% more performance basically.

I went ahead and bought the SeaSonic 430

I am really planning on keeping the pc like it is. I dont game very much, and if I do, I dont have to be on the bleeding edge of hardware...so if my true 380 can run this pc fine, the seasonic should be even better..

Thanks so much for everyones help!
