Newegg's computers messed up. He was charged for a free gift. 99.999% likely he will get his money refunded for the gift. The OP was just posting a heads up.

How old are you? You think that every company doesnt make the random mistake?

No, your join date, post count, and username don't give any hints that this is a dupe account, no sir.

Man i love the egg as much as the next guy but i just ordered a dvd-rw from them, it came with a free gift, a 24pcs cd wallet. HAHAHA jokes on me, it showed up as $15 and then at the bottom of my order there was a $15 deduct, all is right in the world. WRONG, as soon as i completed my order i noticed that it had changed and was no longer free, i just bought this 15 dollar POS for no reason. But the item is still up for a free gift so its not like i missed a deadline on it or anything like that.

Similar experience:

I just bought a Samsung DVDRW w/ lightscribe from them and got the same free gift offer. When I went to checkout, the wallet did show up for free, but somehow the price of the DVDRW had mysteriously increased $5 or $6. I tried clearing the cart a couple of times, but each time I added the gift, the DVDRW price changed, so eventually I just deleted the gift and paid the sale price on the burner.

ok. i kno wi am not a dupe account and i have been a member for a long time etc.

but the kid was just trying to let people know that it comes up as $15 and not free as it should be.

yet ATOT had to jump all over the kid and then others have to join the mob etc.

I had the same problem when I was ordering some DVD+R's except I noticed they were charging me an extra $4.02 for shipping when I selected the "Free combo item"... :disgust:

I emailed support and they said they would take off the $4.02 shipping... but I had already ordered the DVD's by the time they got back to me because I needed them shipped that day.

Right now I am playing email tag with NE support to try and get the CD case for free, with free shipping (exactly as it would have been if I had got it with the combo deal).

Eh, if they don't let me have it, it's no biggie... but it would be nice.

Since when do places charge you $4 for shipping on a "Free" combo items?
