I sign up for the card, get a letter in the mail saying 'thank you for signing up, here are all the features. Don't forget you have a credit limit of this much and blah blah blah...'. But there's no card in the envelope. So I wait and wait. I get emails and letters from them that make it look like I already have the card. It's been over 2 months since I've signed up.

So I email them about it, no reply. I notice in another promotional email they sent to me that they don't answer these quesitons via email because of security issues. It says I have to log on to their site.

So I go to the site, https://www.citibank.com/us/cards/index.jsp , and it asks for a UserID and password. Having neither I click, "First Time User". The first thing it says is:

To register, you'll need:
* Your card
* A check or deposit slip to set up online payments
* An email address to get statements online only

The first question they ask: Credit Card Account Number.

Thanks alot citibank

Well, they did send me two checks when I was only expecting one. They're both for the same amount and different check numbers. I could cash the second one as retribution against them for you if you'd like. Otherwise I'm just going to shred the thing. Your call.

PS - I keep the money, it's just the idea of them getting screwed out of $52.07 that should appease you. :D

I tried picking up the phone to talk to them about a loan application, and found out they outsourced their customer service to the usual place in Asia. Thank you Citibank from all the unemployeed Americans that use to work for you. I hung up and I'm going somewhere else for my loan, where they speak an English that I understand.

How do you not have a phone but have internet access?

Most people's internet does not involve the phone.

Dude, you have to call them. 1800 from a payphone or call from work, but you have to call them. If you never got your card, there's a good chance that it was stolen and you need to stop fvcking around and get that taken care of before it screws up your credit!!!!!

I've found live much more enjoyable when I just call and get an answer from a company rather than spending an hour trying to find the info on teh intarweb.

Mame, they have payphones.

That wasn't my point. Most people who have internet access either already have land line phones, or are tech savvy enough to have a cellular phone. In areas that Internet or Telephone land lines are hard to come by, people will usually have a satellite phone first, and internet second.

Calling the 800 number would do the trick. If there is a number that isn't an 800 number, you can probably even call them collect (at least that's what my friend did, calling from Germany).
