I used to work in the IT dept of the company I work for.. I switched dept's but am still drinking buddies/friends with the IT manager, and am also good friends with all of the upper management..


basically, when I worked in the IT dept I had a company paid cell phone.. when I switched dept one of my 'perks' was that I could keep my cell phone.. a T600.. well.. 6 months later (now) we are switching providers, and the new company is giving a 700p for every pda phone we give them. (noone in IT has a pda phone..) basically I'm being given an el cheapo phone so that one of the IT people gets a pda phone.


Neither of us "needs" a pda phone... but it was nice while it lasted.

STFU!! I have to make international calls for the company on my personal cell phone because my employer is too cheap to give me a phone.
 
Me thinks the IT guy might actually have more of a need/use for it than you. And yeah, you still get a free phone out of the deal, so buck up beyotch.
 
One of the perks of my job is a free cell phone.
Pretty nice really. I dont even have a home phone, just use the cell.
 
Screw you, I did IT and didn't get a free phone. My boss told me many times that I would need one, but legally he couldn't fire me for not getting one and paying for it myself. I got my first cell phone 6 months after I quit that job (I got the phone 2 months ago)
