I second the notion regarding how the op should reveal his age. This sounds like an idea concocted by a 12 year old who thinks he knows his way around computers after installing his first video card.

Be prepared with lots of Tylenol

I will just offer a 7 day warente or something not much I don't want headache.

Nobody is going to buy a computer with a 7 day warrantee.

Just do local consulting/random computer work. If you're good, you can make some decent scratch.

Well I could sell alot of them on eBay and just go from there.

you could, but you won't.

Why wouldn't I?

there are already 18726487235982435 prebuilt computers for sale on ebay.

that's sig worthy:laugh:

Better yet, /idea. Go back to school. If you can't handle the English language, how do you expect to be able to handle a business model?

U R crewel, so verry crewel

It would be far more cruel to him for me to encourage his blissfully flawed undertaking, giving him false hope. Telling him the simple truth may be exactly what he needs. Everyone needs a slap in the face at some point in life to jolt them back to reality. Who knows... maybe he'll be inspired to go get himself an education. Maybe we'll end up seeing his name on a list of the top 100 most financially-capable entrepreneurs in 20 years. :)

This has been a bad venture since the late 90s. Don't make the same mistake literally thousands of people have made. Learn from others mistakes.

Install a piece of hardware for one of your friends for free. When you open it up, pretend to inspect the parts and say that their hardware is woefully inadequate. Offer to purchase the upgrade parts and convince them they are breaking even, but try to make $30 per part. EG. Get a 7600gt and charge him like $230 and keep the rebate for yourself. I would do the same, but all of my classmates, much less friends, don't know their ways around a computer.

Then work for a company where you will not be taking much of a risk and will havea guarenteered wage.

I hate to say it, but $10 a build is total crap. How are you going to pay for overhead, shipping and other stuff with $10 and still expect to make a profit?

Want some extra money then never fix a PC or help somebody with a PC problem for free. I used to charge $30 per half hour or $50 per hour for onsite service and this was mainly spyware removal and driver install issues. If the system required format and reinstall I would do it at my house for $50 which is a steal. If they wanted/needed parts then I would recommend and tell them where to buy online or get cash up front and buy for them.

If you don't want to do this then get a resellers license and become a Dell, Apple, HP reseller.

You'll learn soon enough. I tell people I don't even know anything about computers anymore. Too much of an episode all the time.

wow triple post!

anyway. i got tired of talking to the kids that think they will make money. just not going to happen. not when you can go to dell and get a computer for $425 or so.

man i remember (back in the 90's) being able to build a computer for $1200-$1500 and sale it for a few hundred more and still be far cheaper then dell, hp etc. made a lot of money at the time.
