I know it probably wouldn't do good and people might not want to spend there money with me. Here's my plan.

Start a website that offers different packages for Home based computing. (...gaming, e-mail, etc.)

They pay for the system pre-built, I ship it straight to them. I only charge like $10 to build it for them and they pay for the parts. I got a buddy who can host it and make the website for me.

Just a way to make a little extra money. Might work, might not.

u planning on just doing local work? The only way you will get any busness is if they know you...there are so many hundreds of sites just like that, and you will not be able to compete price wise or more importantly warrenty wise with the big dogs...
But- if you want to make some scrach building and servicing computers locally you might get some buisness...

I will just offer a 7 day warente or something not much I don't want headache.

Nobody is going to buy a computer with a 7 day warrantee.

Just do local consulting/random computer work. If you're good, you can make some decent scratch.

You're going to assemble fully loaded machines for just $10? What if you run into a screw component? You're going to have to test the machine by running every single part, looking for the screwy component for hours on end. Then, you're going to have to pay shipping to RMA it back? There's your $6 profit. What if you get back the "defective component" 3 weeks after your client wanted the computer only to find that it was a software incompatability and your client won't be able to run his raid 1 array? You're better off finding a local pervert with a sticky keyboard, and charging him $50 for a reformat and installing freeware security.

i'm surprised people evev want to try this anymore. it seems like every week we have someone asking about this. this type of thing hasn't been viable in about 10 years.

as everyone said, you can't offer the stuff the big companies like dell offer AND the low price.

Better yet, /idea. Go back to school. If you can't handle the English language, how do you expect to be able to handle a business model?

Hell, even if you suck you'll probably make more money than selling computers to idiots on the internet.

agreed. I don't even bother anymore...even for friends/family/old clients....jsut not worth it.

Worst of all, no one seems to acknowledge that computer buidler have been here for a while, and jsut because you are entering the field doesn't mean the waves will part for you.

It is an INCREDIBLY SATURATED MARKET with crappy returns unless you go all out....if you do that you will go crazy.
